Santos star Ganso looks set to follow team-mate Neymar in signing a new contract at the club and says he wants to open talks after December’s Club World Cup.
Ganso, 22, has been tipped as one of the game’s brightest stars and has been linked with a number of top clubs including AC Milan, Inter and Manchester United. The Brazilian midfielder has a deal that currently runs until 2015, with a reported £50 million buy-out clause installed in it.
However, after claiming that he would stay for the club’s centenary year a few months ago, the player now says that he is even willing to extend his deal.
“My desire is to reach an agreement with those at Santos and extend my contract here,” he said. “I have told the president I want to talk in January after the Club World Cup.”
Neymar recently signed a new contract with Santos until 2014, while the club are also keen to bring back former stars Diego and Robinho ahead of their centenary celebrations in 2012.
